Services - Doula Birthing Services

A Doula is an ideal "Friend" for women who want to look after their own babies but welcome the help and advice traditionally given by their own Mothers and Grandmothers. If you feel like you need a friend during your pregnancy and postnatal period, don't worry ... we're here to help!!

We are able to offer you friendship and fun as well as helping to take the strain out of your hectic life.

To find out more... it couldn't be simpler. Just contact one of us and we will arrange a time to talk to you about your requirements and ideas. The first consultation is free and we are happy to come to you. Once you have decided to use our services you will be charged at our hourly rate and we hope to send you regular news letters and updates, dates of our conferences and regular meetings, access to our book shelf and price lists of our other services.

Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy

We have a number of Doulas who are qualified and experienced in the following beauty treatments: manicure, pedicure, massage, facial, waxing and hairdressing. All in the comfort of your own home. Just think how lovely it would be to have a pedicure before the birth or to be able to have a new hair style after the birth without having to sit in a salon for hours.

Ironing

Let us tackle that mountain of ironing! We can arrange for your ironing to be collected, pressed and delivered back to your door - charged on an hourly rate.

Cleaning

At present this service is limited, but we are able to offer you a cleaning service from as little as £8 per hour, most of our girls are not Doulas but professional cleaners and we hire them on an hourly rate on your behalf. No more bending over the bath or fighting with double duvets whilst your bump gets in the way.
We can arrange for one of our girls to come and do the cleaning for you, she will be trustworthy and willing to help with all the light housework duties, although "Spring Cleaning" can be arranged. Please note that there is a minimum time of 2 hours for this service.

Our own "Book Shelf"

We have all sorts of books and literature that you can browse through or borrow on a library-basis.

Breastfeeding advice and products

As well as our book shelf, we are able to put you in touch with all the techniques of breastfeeding before and after your baby is born. We also hold regular breastfeeding workshops designed to help you to be well informed BEFORE the new arrival, in addition to this we can put you in touch with groups local to your area.

ParentCraft

We also offer Parent Craft classes (courses of 5 sessions) which cover the following:

How does our body change during pregnancy and birth - a look at how we can cope with these changes and practical ways of getting through it.
Dads' Night - time to look at how our men feel and how they can be most effective for us. Time to discuss any fears that they may have. LABOUR... facts and info on what happens and how best to cope.
What do we really need to buy and prepare - practical look at what we do and don't need to buy for our babies.
Social Evening - let's watch a video and chill out with some popcorn. BUT before we do we'll make sure that you don't have any unanswered questions or concerns.

NB. We will have a reunion once all the babies are here so please keep us informed of your baby's arrival so that we can make a date to see you and your new arrival asap.

Babysitting

We have a dedicated and reliable team of great babysitters ranging from Doulas for your newborn to grandmas, mothers and responsible carers who are great with older children. Why not treat yourself to a well-earned night out with peace of mind starting at £8 per hour.

Counselling

Sometimes things don't always go to plan and we have counsellors who are professionally trained and are qualified in many fields and able to help you if you need it. So, if you have emotional issues during your pregnancy or feel low after the birth, they can provide a comforting shoulder to cry on.

So if you fancy a new hairstyle, a relaxing facial or you're in desperate need of a cleaner or baby sitter, don't panic, we will come to you so now there's no need to leave the comfort of your own home!

Remember that you can get involved as much or as little as you like, you can hire a Doula for three hours a week, or throughout your pregnancy and as your birth partner. You can have a facial every week or just a pedicure when baby is due, whatever you need you have, our Doulas are here just for you.
